The Kearny Public Library would like to announce a special Gourd Toss Contest for children in the Main Library outdoor garden space on Thursday, November 16 at 3:30 PM.

There will be two groups eligible to compete. The first group will include children from Pre-K up to 1^st grade and the second group will include 2^nd grade through 4^th grade. Each participant will choose from many unique gourds, provided by our Kearny Farmer’s Market friends at Alstede Farms in Chester, NJ. Once all children have chosen a gourd, we will see who can throw it the farthest. The two farthest tosses in each group will win a special prize! Everyone who participates will go home with the gourd of their choice.

This program will be held outside at the Main Library, located at 318 Kearny Avenue in Kearny, NJ. While there will be no registration, there are a limited amount of gourds. If interested, please plan on arriving early. In the event of inclement weather, we will meet on the lower level of the library. For more information about this or other upcoming programs, call the library or visit our website at www.kearnylibrary.org.
