Garden Thursdays Concert Series – Nick Scheuble Latin Jazz Band
On Thursday, August 29 at 1 PM, join us for another program in our series of Garden Concerts. This time around, we welcome a newcomer to our stage with Nick Scheuble, a talented Latin drummer and percussionist.
Nick Scheuble has established a reputation as both a first rate Jazz drummer and Latin percussionist, and offers an impressive list of artists he has performed and/or recorded with in each genre. Additionally, his expertise in early New Orleans jazz, has enabled him to work with some of the most respected exponents of this style as well. Born in the Bronx, New York, Nick Scheuble moved to New Jersey shortly before his sixth birthday. By the age of thirteen, he began to take a serious interest in music. Subsequent studies followed in drums and piano under Carl Wolf and Dr. John Gorman, respectively. He enrolled in the prestigious Jazz Studies and Performance program at the William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey studying under the tutelage of renowned drummer/educator, John Riley. As a percussionist, he has toured much of the United States with The Paragon Ragtime Orchestra – a premiere American orchestra formed at The Juilliard School that has served as Ambassador of Good Will for the United States Government.
Please note that in the event of rain or inclement weather, we will be featuring music in our lower level Assembly Room. Our Reading Garden space will be open all Summer during the Main Library’s open public hours. Also, take some time to visit the Kearny Farmer’s Market, located on Garfield Avenue right next to the library, which is open every Thursday throughout the Summer from 12 NOON to 6 PM.
