Poetry Reading & Book Signing featuring Barbara Krasner

March 14, 2018 @ 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

The Kearny Public Library is proud to present a book signing and poetry reading event with local author Barbara Krasner in celebration of her new collection of poems, Chicken Fat, which has just been released by Finishing Line Press.  On Wednesday, March 14 at 6:30 PM, she will be on hand at the Main Library to share her work.

Don’t miss this unique event with our own local accomplished poet. Fellow author Matthew Lippman said of her newest collection: “Barbara Krasner’s collection of poems, Chicken Fat, is rich and soulful, redemptive, and full of the soothing spice that makes poetry come alive. She writes about heritage, family, the Jewish experience and identity in a way that is fresh and robust. Her poetry is warm, accessible, and utterly singular in its ability to put you right into the middle of the simmer and let you feel all the spice and ‘fat’ of the human experience. There is a love in these poems that is tangible.”

Historian and genealogist Barbara Krasner has previously written four books about her hometown of Kearny, including her most recent 2015 publication, Legendary Locals. Krasner graduated from Kearny High School. She holds a B.A., M.B.A. and M.F.A. and teaches creative writing at William Paterson University, where she is also completing her master’s in history.
