Family Tree Lesson

October 18, 2017 @ 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm

In honor of the town’s sesquicentennial anniversary, the Kearny Public Library, along with the EMD of the Woman’s Club of Arlington and the Hudson County Genealogical and Historical Society, is pleased to host a free Ask Granny Family Tree Lesson at the Main Library on Wednesday, October 18 at 6:30, organized and taught by Past President of the Hudson County Genealogical and Historical Society, Jane Mackesy.

Ever thought about doing Family Tree research? Learn how at an adapted Ask Granny presentation.  Most amateur genealogists have thought: “Why didn’t I ask Granny?”  Using only pencil and paper, adults and children will learn how to begin the process of filling out the beginnings of a family tree that can be handed down to the younger generation.  Hopefully, this will give participants the push to continue building their tree, by contacting relatives and asking questions, as well as doing online research.

All are welcome to attend this free session. Space is limited, so please plan on arriving early.  The Kearny Public Library is located at 318 Kearny Ave. in Kearny, NJ.  For more information, please call us at (201) 998-2666 or visit our website at www.kearnylibrary.org.  Check out the Hudson County Genealogical Society site at http://www.hudsoncountynjgenealogy.org/
